Zhong Yize's Suangan Itching-Relief Method:an Exploration of Treating Pruritic Skin Diseases

Abstract
The"Suangan Itching-Relief"theory can be traced back to the thought of five flavors compatibility in Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon.It has evolved through the practice of"Suangan Combination"by Zhang Zhongjing and the development of"Suangan Yin-Nourishing"by the School of Warm Diseases.Professor Zhong Yize,skilled in applying the method of supplementing Qi and nourishing Yin,innovatively proposed"Suangan Itching-Relief"method by integrating clinical practice.In pruritic skin diseases,"itching"is the manifestation,while the root cause lies in"Yin fluid"deficiency.By skillfully utilizing the compatibility of"Suangan combination and transformation",this method can regulate Ying and Wei,moisten the viscera and adjust their opening-closing functions,moisten the lung to generate body fluid,astringe the heart to tranquilize the mind,and nourish blood to dredge collaterals,thereby achieving the effect of relieving itching through Su-angan properties.Professor Zhong summarized five commonly used"Suangan Itching-Relief"herb pairs,including Paeoniae Radix Alba-Gly-cyrrhizae Radix et Rhizoma,Mume Fructus-Astragali Radix,Ziziphi spinosae Semen-Schisandrae chinensis Fructus,Corni Fructus-Rehmanniae Radix Praeparata,and Portulacae Herba-Rehmanniae Radix.Professor Zhong's"Suangan Itching-Relief"method breaks through the limita-tions of traditional itching treatment.Based on the essence of"Yin fluid deficiency"and integrating the theory of five flavors with zang-fu syndrome differentiation,it provides a new therapeutic approach for pruritic diseases.关键词
