Expression of LncRNA C5orf66-AS1 and LncRNA SOX2-OT in breast cancer tissues and their relationship with clinicopathological features and prognosis

Abstract
Objective To analyze the expressions of long non-codingRNA(LncRNA)C5orf66-AS1 and LncRNA SOX2-OT in breast cancer tissues,and to investigate their relationships with the clinicopathological characteristics and prognosis.Methods A total of 107 breast cancer patients who underwent modified radical mastectomy in the hospital from August 2020 to April 2022 were selected as the study subjects,breast cancer tissue and adjacent tissue samples resected during surgery were collected.RT-qPCR was used to detect the ex-pression levels of LncRNA C5orf66-AS1 and LncRNA SOX2-OT in cancer tissues and adjacent tissues.The relationship between the expression levels of LncRNA C5orf66-AS1 and LncRNA SOX2-OT and the patholog-ical characteristics of patients was analyzed.The Kaplan-Meier method was used to analyze the relationship between the expression levels of LncRNA C5orf66-AS1 and LncRNA SOX2-OT and the postoperative survival rate of patients.Univariate and multivariate Cox regression analyses were conducted to investigate the influen-cing factors of 3-year postoperative mortality in breast cancer patients.Results Compared with adjacent tis-sues,the expression levels of LncRNA C5orf66-AS1 and LncRNA SOX2-OT were elevated in breast cancer tissues(P<0.05).The expression levels of LncRNA C5orf66-AS1 and LncRNA SOX2-OT in breast cancer tissues were associated with the patient's TNM stage,degree of differentiation,and the presence of lymph node metastasis(P<0.05).The 3-year postoperative survival rate of patients with low expression of Ln-cRNA C5orf66-AS1 in breast cancer tissues(88.24%,45/51)was higher than that of patients with high ex-pression of LncRNA C5orf66-AS1(69.64%,39/56).The 3-year postoperative survival rate of patients with low expression of LncRNA SOX2-OT(92.45%,49/53)was higher than that of patients with high expression of LncRNA SOX2-OT(64.81%,35/54),the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Multivariate Cox regression analysis showed that TNM stage Ⅲ,the presence of lymph node metastasis,and elevated ex-pression levels of LncRNA C5orf66-AS1 and LncRNA SOX2-OT were risk factors for 3-year mortality in breast cancer patients(P<0.05).Conclusion The expression levels of LncRNA C5orf66-AS1 and LncRNA SOX2-OT are significantly elevated in breast cancer tissues,which are closely associated with the clinicopatho-logical characteristics and prognosis of the patients.关键词
