Abstract
On February 28,2026,the United States and Israel jointly launched preemptive military strikes against Iran, aiming to advance the"New Middle East"strategy through rapid military operations in order to change Iranian regime, weaken its military capabilities,as well as control over strategic passages and energy supplies in the Middle East. However, the campaign suffered from severe strategic miscalculations, marked by inadequate preparation, poor coordination, and lack of strategic follow-through.The conflict did not unfold as expected and it devolved into a protracted stalemate characterized by simultaneous fighting and negotiation instead.Taking the evolution of the US-Israel-Iran War as the main thread, this paper systematically analyzes the background, underlying drivers, phased features, and evolving patterns of the conflict, focuses on such key emerging trends triggered by the war as the restructuring of global geopolitical power, deepening polarization among international blocs, disorder in the Middle Eastern regional order, and reshaping of the global energy landscape, explains the strategic adjustments of regional states and the new dynamics of great-power competition in the Middle East region, assesses scenarios for the Strait of Hormuz, and presents medium-to long-term considerations and recommendations for China's energy industry.关键词
