Abstract
The International Oil and Gas Cooperation Working Committee of the Chinese Petroleum Society,in collaboration with the editorial board of International Petroleum Economics,hosted two academic salons on"The Geopolitical Landscape of International Energy"in mid-April and early May 2026 respectively.The meetings concluded that the current situation in the Middle East is a concentrated manifestation of long-standing regional conflicts and profound shifts in the global order,and it will evolve into a normalized pattern characterized by prolonged stalemates,intermittent hostilities,and negotiations alongside military operations.The complexity,intensity,and impact of the US-Israel-Iran war on the oil and gas industry chain have significantly exceeded the industry's earlier forecasts,completely shattering the traditional perception that Middle Eastern energy supplies are stable and regional geopolitical risks are manageable.Against the backdrop of the escalating US-Israel-Iran war,global energy supply and demand structures,security systems,and international cooperation models would reform profoundly,global energy governance mechanisms would reshape rapidly,and the normalization of geopolitical risks alongside mounting pressure on energy supply chain security would become the new normal for the industry.China's domestic oil and gas industry must maintain strategic focus,build a bottom-line mindset for extreme risks,proactively adapt to the new paradigm of global energy geopolitics,and dynamically optimize its overseas market pattern,risk management systems,and international cooperation strategies.关键词
