Identification of the SPX Gene Family in Cucumber Phosphorus Signaling

Abstract
SPX domain-containing genes play a crucial role in regulating phosphate(Pi)homeostasis in cucumber plants.In this study,based on cucumber genome data,16 genes containing the SPX domain were identified and analyzed using bioinformatics ap-proaches.Their physicochemical properties,conserved domains,and promoters were analyzed,and a phylogenetic tree was construct-ed to clarify the relationships among the members.Results showed that the 16 CsSPX genes were distributed on 6 chromosomes of cu-cumber and were classified into 4 subfamilies according to their structural characteristics,namely SPX,SPX-MFS,SPX-EXS,and SPX-RING.Their relative molecular masses ranged from 28.58 to 95.80 kDa,and the encoded amino acid lengths ranged from 246 to 830 aa.In addition,collinearity and cis-acting element analyses of cucumber SPX genes(CsSPXs)were performed.Results indicat-ed that their promoter regions contained a variety of hormone-responsive elements,biotic and abiotic stress-responsive elements,as well as typical P1BS-related elements.Tissue expression profile analysis of CsSPX genes showed that CsPHO1,CsPHO1.1,CsSPX-MFS1,CsSPX-MFS2,CsNLA1,and CsNLA2 exhibited relatively high expression levels in specific organs,suggesting that they may play important roles in cucumber growth and development.This study provides potential molecular targets for improving the phospho-rus utilization efficiency in cucumbers by using the SPX gene.关键词
