Acupoint Selection and Compatibility Patterns in Warm Needling Therapy for Polycystic Ovary Syndrome:A Data Mining Study

Abstract
Objective To investigate the acupoint selection rules and compatibility characteristics of warm needling therapy for polycystic ovary syndrome(PCOS)using data mining techniques.Methods Clinical studies on warm needling therapy for PCOS were retrieved through computer searches of databases including CNKI,Wanfang,VIP,CBM,and PubMed from their inception to February 28,2025.An acupoint prescription database was constructed using Excel 2010 to perform descriptive statistics on acupoint frequency,meridian tropism,and distribution characteristics.Cluster analysis and association analysis were conducted using SPSS 26.0 and SPSS Modeler 18.0.Results A total of 50 studies meeting the inclusion criteria were identified,involving 42 acupoints with a total frequency of 338.The high-frequency acupoints were Guanyuan(CV4),Zigong(EX-CA1),and Shenshu(BL23).The Conception Vessel(CV)and Governor Vessel(GV)exhibited the highest frequency of use.Acupoints were primarily distributed in the back,lumbosacral region,chest,and abdomen.Among the specific acupoints,front-mu points,back-shu points,and source points were most frequently used.The core acupoint prescriptions were Zigong-Guanyuan,Sanyinjiao(SP6)-Guanyuan,Sanyinjiao-Zigong,and Qihai(CV6)-Guanyuan.Conclusion Warm needling therapy for PCOS emphasizes treating the root cause of the disease in acupoint selection and compatibility,employing the method of regulating the CV and GV combined with modulation of zang-fu visceral qi,utilizing the combination of distal and proximal acupoints,and applying precise treatment based on syndrome differentiation.关键词
