Comparative analysis of greenhouse gas emission factors for the recyclables component of municipal solid waste

Abstract
Recyclables constitute a significant portion of municipal solid waste,offering substantial potential for resource utilization and greenhouse gas(GHG)emission reduction.They are expected to make a notable contribution to achieve the"peaking carbon dioxide emissions and achieving carbon neutrality"goal.However,GHG emission factor of various recyclables across databases and literature sources vary widely,ranging from-19 110 to-125 kgCO2-eq·t-1.Not only do GHG emission factors vary significantly among different categories of recyclables,but substantial differences also exist within the same category,which complicates the GHG emission accounting for recyclables.In response to the above issues,this study systematically integrated literature data on GHG emission factors for different categories of recyclables.It focused on analysing potential factors causing the variations in emission factors within the same category,aiming to provide scientific basis and reference recommendations for selecting and calibrating emission factors during GHG emission accounting for recyclables.关键词
