Abstract

Carbon emissions in the shipping industry have attracted increasing attention.By calculating the carbon footprint of the shipping supply chain,the key emission points and reduction potentials throughout the life cycle were identified,thereby the green transformation was promoted.Based on life cycle theory,a process analysis method was employed to construct a carbon footprint calculation model for the vessel supply chain.This model covered the entire process from raw material acquisition,construction and assembly,transportation and distribution,and scrap recycling was constructed.Specific calculations,multi-scenario analysis of emission reduction pathways,and sensitivity analysis were conducted.Results indicated that the transportation and distribution stage was the primary source of carbon footprint in the vessel supply chain,accounting for 88.73%of positive emissions,while the scrapping and recycling stage generated 6.77%carbon offset benefits.The five scenarios,namely low-carbon materials,green energy,green logistics,circular economy,and integrated low-carbon measures,achieved emission reduction effects of 2.02%,0.06%,18.44%,0.42%,and 20.95%,respectively.Green logistics was the core pathway to realize the decarbonization of vessel supply chain.Under green logistics scenarios,the optimization of LNG carbon emission factors can achieve more significant emission reduction effect.This study analyzed the carbon footprint structure of the vessel supply chain from a life-cycle perspective,providing theoretical reference for the industry to identify key emission reduction points and optimize low-carbon technology pathways.
