Abstract
Objective To identify the latent classes and analyze the influencing factors of psychological flexibility among family caregivers of dementia patients.Methods A total of 200 family caregivers of dementia patients were recruited from the neurology departments and cognitive impairment specialty clinics of two provincial tertiary general hospitals in Shandong and Zhejiang provinces.Data were collected using a General Information Questionnaire,the Chinese version of the Compre-hensive Assessment of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Processes,the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale,the Zarit Caregiver Burden Interview,and the Perceived Social Support Scale.Latent profile analysis was performed to identify classes of psychological flexibility among family caregivers of dementia patients,and multivariate logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors.Results The psychological flexibility of family caregivers of dementia patients was classi-fied into three latent classes:rigid type(9.5%),moderate type(33.0%),and flexible type(57.5%).Multivariate logistic re-gression analysis showed that,compared with the rigid type,family caregivers in the moderate type were more likely to be classified into the rigid type if the patient had more severe dementia and if the caregiver had longer daily caregiving hours,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Compared with the rigid type,family caregivers in the flexible type were more likely to be classified into the rigid type if they had longer daily caregiving hours,higher levels of anxiety,greater care-giver burden,and cared for patients with more severe dementia,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Com-pared with the flexible type,family caregivers in the flexible type were more likely to be classified into the moderate type if they had greater caregiver burden,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion Psychological flexibility among family caregivers of dementia patients shows significant heterogeneity.Medical workers should focus on family care-givers who care for patients with more severe dementia,have longer daily caregiving hours,experience high levels of anxiety,and bear heavy caregiving burden,and assist them in developing targeted nursing interventions to improve their psychological flexibility and quality of life.关键词
