Abstract
Impurities of MPR(methyl propionate)is identified in the PVA(polyvinyl alcohol)recovery section of the calcium carbide acetylene process for PVA production.The occurrence of MPR impurities in the PVA recovery section is found to significantly reduce the purity of recycled VAC(vinyl acetate),thereby deteriorating the quality of PVA products.Consequently,separation of the byproduct MPR is required.As of now,there are few reports on the binary vapor-liquid phase equilibrium(VLE)data of VAC and MPR.The VLE data for the VAC-MPR binary system were meticulously measured at 101.3 kPa.Subsequently,the corresponding binary interaction parameters were regressed via the NRTL model.To address the issue that high-purity VAC could not be obtained through ordinary distillation in the low-molar fraction region of MPR,the ED(conventional extractive distillation)process was designed.On this basis,an energy-efficient E-DWC(extractive dividing wall column)was designed and simulated using Aspen Plus to optimize the ED process.Furthermore,the energy-saving effects of the heat load of E-DWC and ED process were compared.The total heat load of the condenser and reboiler in E-DWC is 46.792 GJ/h and 47.930 GJ/h,respectively.In the ED process,the total heat load of the condenser and reboiler is 60.809 GJ/h and 61.956 GJ/h,respectively.The E-DWC demonstrates significant energy condenser cooling water savings of 23.052%and reboiler steam savings of 22.638%,demonstrating a significant energy-saving effect.关键词
