Abstract
Objective To analyze the prevalence and associated influencing factors of central obesity among the elderly in Wuliqiao Community,Yulin City,and to provide evidence for developing localized intervention strategies.Methods A cross-sectional design was adopted.A total of 2 259 health records(including demographic characteristics,behavioral habits,history of chronic diseases,and physical examination indicators)of the elderly aged ≥65 years from January to De-cember 2023 in Wuliqiao Community,Yulin City were selected.The prevalence of central obesity in the elderly with different data was compared,and x2 test were used for univariate analysis.Variables with P＜0.05 were included in a mul-tivariate logistic regression model to identify independent influencing factors.Results The prevalence of central obesity a-mong the elderly in this community was 50.7％.Univariate analysis showed that there were statistically significant differences in the prevalence of central obesity among the elderly with different gender,education level,presence of hypertension,presence of diabetes,and body mass index(BMI)categories(P＜0.05).Multivariate logistic regression analysis indicated that female gender(β=0.371,OR=1.450,95％CI:1.170-1.790),hypertension(β=0.236,OR=1.266,95％CI:1.024-1.565),diabetes(β=0.296,OR=1.345,95％CI:1.055-1.715),overweight(β=2.323,OR=10.210,95％CI:8.185-12.736),and obesity(β=5.136,OR=169.978,95％CI:53.834-536.697)were independent risk factors for central obesity(P＜0.05),whereas high school education or above(β=-0.504,OR=0.604,95％CI:0.469-0.788)and underweight(β=-3.644,OR=0.026,95％CI:0.004-0.189)were independent protective factors(P＜0.05).Conclusion The prevalence of central obesity among older adults in the Wuliqiao Community,Yulin City is relatively high,and it is closely associated with gender,education level,comorbid hypertension or diabetes,and BMI classification.It is recommended that a three-tier"screening-intervention-management"prevention and control system be established in the community,with comprehensive interventions implemented for high-risk populations to promote"healthy aging".关键词
