Effects of immediate implant placement and restoration on soft tissue changes,Pink Esthetic Score,and economic value of dental implants in the anterior maxillary region

Abstract
Objective To investigate the impact of immediate implant placement and restoration on soft tissue changes,Pink Esthetic Score(PES),and economic value in the maxillary anterior region.Methods Twenty-two patients with single anterior maxillary tooth loss who visited the First Hospital of Zhangjiakou City from January 2022 to January 2024 were selected for the study.After obtaining patient consent,they were divided into a control group and an observation group,with 11 patients in each group.The control group was treated with early implant placement and restoration,while the observation group was treated with immediate implant placement and restoration.The second-stage surgery execution rate at 6 months after implant placement,permanent restoration rate at 7 months,implant restoration effect,PES,excellent/good rate of soft tissue evaluation after restoration,oral hygiene status(periodontal disease score,non-periodontal disease score,and gingival bleeding index),and treatment cost were compared between the two groups.Results The second-stage surgery execution rate at 6 months after implant placement and the permanent restoration rate at 7 months after implant placement in both the control group and the observation group were 90.91%(10/11);there was no significant difference in these indicators between the two groups(P>0.05).The soft tissue PES of the observation group was better than that of the control group(P<0.05).The excellent/good rate of soft tissue evaluation in the observation group was 90.91%(10/11),which was not statistically different from that of the control group(72.73%,8/11)(P>0.05).The periodontal disease score and gingival bleeding index in the observation group were better than those in the control group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the non-periodontal disease score between the two groups(P>0.05).The restoration success rate of both the control group and the observation group was 90.91%(10/11),and there was no significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).The basic cost,additional cost,and total cost of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05),and there was no significant difference in other costs between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion Compared with early implant placement and restoration,immediate implant placement and restoration in the maxillary anterior region offers certain advantages in terms of soft tissue changes,PES,and cost-effectiveness.关键词
