Abstract

Traditional satellite radar altimeters operate in a one-dimensional measurement mode,which cannot achieve high temporal and spatial resolution simultaneously.In this paper,a near-nadir small-field-of-view interferome-tric synthetic aperture radar(InSAR)measurement system composed of Ku and Ka bands is proposed.The two bands are used to observe different regions respectively,and then the two observation areas are spliced to obtain a large swath width.The spaceborne InSAR system is equipped with dual-frequency shared-aperture active phased array antennas at both ends of the interferometric baseline,which can flexibly adjust the antenna beam pointing.The operating sequence involves two pulses per group,alternately transmitting signals and receiving echoes to observe the areas on the left or right side of the satellite.To avoid transmission blocking and mutual interference between the two frequency bands,both bands work at the same pulse repetition frequency.The results of computer simulations and real data inversions demon-strate that the method described in this paper can obtain high-precision sea surface height and large observation swath width at the same time.
