Abstract

To develop air-jet vortex-spun slub yarn with unique style,a method for spinning composite slub yarn on air-jet vortex spinning equipment was proposed,which used slub filament as the core yarn and short fibers as the outer covering component.The calculation formulas for relevant parameters of composite slub yarn were analyzed and presented under the condition of regular slub distribution in the slub filament,including base yarn linear density,slub linear density,slub multiple,core filament proportion and total linear density.Through raw material selection and treatment,as well as targeted optimization of air-jet vortex core-spun yarn process parameters,the air-jet vortex-spun polyester composite slub yarn with better slub morphology and meeting design requirements was successfully developed.The feasibility of the proposed method was verified and the product range of air-jet vortex-spun yarns was enriched.It is pointed out that by adjusting slub filament specifications,selecting short fibers with different properties and designing differentiated core spun processes,more air-jet vortex-spun composite slub yarns and their fabrics with diverse characteristics can be developed,the application field of air-jet vortex spinning can be expanded.
