Influence of blade geometric parameters on cavitation performance of axial-flow pump

Abstract
To address the effect of blade geometric parameters on the cavitation issue in axial-flow pumps,the ZL-125 model based on the 791 airfoil was taken as the research objective in this study.The results indicate that decreasing the inlet incidence angle(θ)and increasing blade solidity(l/t),while reducing blade thickness(ξ),effectively lower the required net positive suction head(NPSHR).Among these,changes in blade solidity and thickness exhibit a linear correlation with NPSHR,whereas the inlet incidence angle follows a cubic relationship.On this basis,an orthogonal experimental design with three factors and three levels was employed.A configuration with θ=0.2°,l/t=0.66,and ξ=2%yielded a modest 3.0%reduction in NPSHR.The most significant improvement was observed at θ=0.2°,l/t=0.74,and ξ=5%,achieving an 11.0%decrease in NPSHR.The optimal design,however,was identified as θ=0.5°,l/t=0.74,and ξ=2%,which reduced NPSHR by 9.8%and delivered the highest head(H)within the test group and improved efficiency by 0.72%.Based on the study of the three influencing factors and range analysis,it is concluded that changes in cascade density have a relatively greater impact on the cavitation performance of axial-flow pumps.The research results can provide a theoretical basis for blade optimization design and cavitation performance improvement of axial-flow pumps.关键词
