摘要

Abstract

Employing a spatio-temporal matching method with a 1-hour temporal window and 50-km spatial resolu-tion,the quality of significant wave height(SWH,hsw)measurements from the HY-2B satellite radar altimeter was evalu-ated over the period from January 1 to December 31,2024.The assessment was based on significant wave height data measured by NDBC buoys.The results indicate that:1)For the full year of 2024,the assessment yielded a correlation coefficient of 0.977 7,with a meanbias of-0.007 1 m,mean absolute error of 0.158 6 m,mean relative error of 0.078 7,root mean square error of 0.259 6 m,and standard deviation of 0.259 5 m.The HY-2B satellite radar altimeter exhibits higher significant wave height accuracy,representing a significant improvement over the HY-2A.2)The data quality of the HY-2B satellite radar altimeter's significant wave height correlates with the offshore distance of observation points,with higher precision observed at points farther offshore;3)The observation accuracy of the HY-2B satellite radar altim-eter is related to wave type.When hsw≤6 m,accuracy is high,but it decreases significantly when 6 m<hsw≤9 m.
