摘要

Abstract

Using sodium hypophosphite(SHPP),propylene,glacial acetic acid(HAc),radical initiator,and aluminum sulfate(AS)as raw materials,an aluminum dipropylphosphinate(ADPP)product with good thermal stability and dispersibility was successfully synthesized.Its water content was 0.149 0%,the mass fractions of P and Al were 18.61%and 6.34%,respectively,the temperature for 1%mass loss was 302.45℃,the temperature for 5%mass loss was 354.56℃,the char residue at 664℃was 9.04%,and the purity reached 95.13%.The synthesized ADPP and a commercially available aluminum diethylphosphinate(ADP)were respectively incorporated into bisphenol A epoxy resin(EP)and polypropylene(PP)for flame retardancy test.The results showed that at the same addition level of ADPP and ADP,compared with the blank samples,the four flame-retardant composites containing either ADPP or ADP exhibited no melt dripping,and their flame retardancy reached UL-94 V-1 or higher.The limiting oxygen index(LOI)of all four flame-retardant composites was significantly increased.The results indicated that the flame retardancy of the synthesized ADPP essentially reached the level of the commercially available ADP.
