Abstract
To elucidate the mechanism of planting density affecting on purple yam yield, this study established five density gradients to systematically analyze their effects on agronomic traits, population structure, and yield composition. Results demonstrated that density significantly regulated individual development and population productivity of purple yam.The tuber weight per plant decreased significantly with increasing density, while the population yield peaked at 45000 plants/hm2,reaching 42350 kg/hm2.This treatment achieved an optimal balance between leaf area index suitability and individual productivity coupled with population light energy utilization efficiency.Excessive density increased individual competition, leading to yield reduction.Therefore,45,000 plants/hm2 was identified as the optimal planting density for achieving high purple yam yield under experimental conditions.关键词
