Forging a Strong Sense of Chinese Nation Community:A Research Sysposium(Ⅲ)

Abstract
In the mid-to-late 1980s,facing increasingly severe desertification,the Aksu Prefectural Committee organized and mobilized cadres and masses of all ethnic groups in its jurisdiction to launch the Aksu Desert Greening Project.After forty years of continuous and unwavering effort,a"Green Great Wall"covering over one million mu has been built on the northern edge of the Taklamakan Desert,hitherto known as the"Sea of Death."This has created a model for ecological civilization construction characterized by"green advances and sand retreats"and nurtured the spirit of"self-reliance,unity,hard work,and selfless dedication."It has established a model for the Southern Xinjiang region in the new era to consolidate the sense of community of the Chinese nation through the"Kekeya Spirit."Fully understanding and disseminating the Kekeya Spirit not only helps us deepen our understanding of the Party's governance strategy and cultural enrichment strategy in Xinjiang in the new era but also provides an important theoretical foundation and spiritual strength for forging and enhancing the sense of community of the Chinese nation.In view of this,this Journal has invited organizers and participants of the Kekeya Desert Greening Project in the Aksu region,as well as researchers of the Kekeya Spirit in the Xinjiang region,to write this series of essays on the Kekeya Spirit to express our respect for the continuous promotion of the desert greening project by cadres and masses of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang.This series of essays focuses on exploring and answering questions about the generative logic,basic connotations,semantic expressions,collective practices,consciousness awakening,and the relationship between the Kekeya Spirit and the forging of a sense of community of the Chinese nation,aiming to elucidate the underlying theoretical philosophy of the Kekeya Spirit.The article"Consolidating the Sense of the Chinese Nation through the Kekeya Spirit"analyzes the unique value of the Kekeya Spirit in the process of promoting the sense of the Chinese national community;it highlights their inherent consistency and dialectical unity with the concept of the"Four Consciousnesses,"shedding light on how the Kekeya Spirit can empower the development of the sense of community of the Chinese nation.The article"The Generative Logic and Implications of the Kekeya Spirit in the New Era"argues that the Kekeya Spirit is a spirit of the new era with regional characteristics,formed in response to the dual challenges of ecological vulnerability and development needs under the institutional advantages and strategic guidance of the leadership of the CPC.Deeply rooted in the profound nourishment of excellent traditional Chinese culture,the inheritance of socialist revolutionary culture,and the practical guidance of advanced socialist culture,the Kekeya Spirit possesses historical inevitability and carries theoretical and value implications specific to the new era.The article"The Kekeya Spirit:A True Portrait of the Modern Life of Various Ethnic Groups in Aksu"compiles a large number of cases from the Aksu Desert Greening Project,attempting to use sociological methods to demonstrate that the formation of the Kekeya Spirit is the crystallization of the vivid practice of various ethnic groups rallying together to forge a strong sense of community of the Chinese nation.The Kekeya Spirit is not an empty slogan or dust-laden historical material but a living force flowing in the daily lives of various ethnic groups.The article"The Semantic Condensation and Practical Tension of the Kekeya Spirit"attempts to use linguistic methods to illustrate that the Kekeya Spirit is not an a priori concept but is gradually condensed from the embodied practice,discursive expression,and value recognition of various ethnic groups during forty years of collective endeavor in the desert greening project.The generation and condensation of its core semantics are deeply rooted in the governance process within the specific time and space of the Taklamakan Desert,carrying a unique historical landscape and collective memory.关键词
