Abstract
Objective:To design and implement a proficiency testing program for the determination of preservatives in cosmetics,using methyl 4-hydroxybenzoate as a representative analyte.The aim is to assess the testing capabilities of cosmetic inspection institutions,identify the causes of deviations,and promote improvements in laboratory performance.Methods:Proficiency testing samples were prepared and tested for homogeneity and stability.Robust statistical methods were applied to analyze the measurement results from participating laboratories,with z-scores used for performance evaluation.Results:The homogeneity and stability of the samples met required specifications.Among 69 registered laboratories,66 submitted valid results.The outcomes demonstrated 60 satisfactory results.2 were questionable,and 4 were unsatisfactory,resulting in an overall satisfactory rate of 90.9％.Conclusion:The majority of participating laboratories demonstrated adequate proficiency in determining preservatives in cosmetics,though further improvement is needed for some laboratories.关键词
