Abstract
Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2(SARS-CoV-2),the causative agent of COVID-19,has posed a severe challenge to global public health,socioeconomic stability,and daily lives over the past few years.Viral entry of SARS-CoV-2 into host cells is a critical step in its life cycle and transmission,and primarily involves viral attachment,binding to host cell receptors,and membrane fusion as with most of the enveloped viruses.Given the importance of this process in the viral life cycle,elucidating the mechanisms of viral entry and developing viral entry inhibitors have become important strategies for prevention and treatment of COVID-19.This review summarizes recent advances in inhib-itors targeting the entry process of SARS-CoV-2,and aims to provide a reference for developing novel antiviral strategies against SARS-CoV-2 infection and for countering the threats posed by other envel-oped viruses.关键词
