摘要

Abstract

To evaluate the growth-promoting and intestinal-health-improving effects of three compound traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)formulations(A,B,C)as antibiotic alternatives in broilers.A total of 500 one-day-old Arbor Acres(AA)broilers were randomly allotted to blank control(CON),TCM-A,TCM-B,TCM-C,and antibiotic control(ANT;ciprofloxacin hydrochloride). The 42-day feeding trial was conducted under conventional management.Compared with CON,birds in the TCM-C group exhibited a 14.9%higher body weight at 21 d(P<0.05)and a9.3%lower feed conversion ratio(FCR),which was comparable to the ANT group. With respect to intestinal health, the ileal villus height/crypt depth(V/C)ratio was increased by 48.7%and 41.8%in TCM-B and TCM-C groups, respectively. In addition,TCM supplementation significantly enriched the abundance of beneficial bacteria such as Alistipes and Faecalibacterium. The three TCM formulations A,B,and C can effectively enhance growth performance and modulate intestinal microbiota, with TCM-C achieving a growth-promoting efficacy equivalent to ciprofloxacin hydrochloride. These findings provide a scientific basis for the future development of TCM-based antibiotic substitutes in veterinary medicine.
