Critical Investigation of Origin and Transmission of Tibetan Medicine and Ayurveda

Abstract
Historically,Tibetan medicine in China has maintained close exchanges with ancient India medicine Ayurveda.From the perspectives of communication history and theoretical connotation,this paper systematically analyzed the relationship between the two medical systems,as well as their respective links to the historical and geographical concept of"India".It focused on the following core aspects:the influence of Ayurveda on Tibetan medicine,the similarities and differences between the two systems,the geographical scope of the origin and inheritance of Ayurveda and its historical connection with China,and the current dissemination status of contemporary Tibetan medicine in South Asia.In discussions involving the geographical context of Ayurveda,it is necessary to clarify the connotative differences between the ancient and modern concepts of"India",and avoid confusing the geographical and cultural concept of the ancient South Asian subcontinent with the concept of the modern sovereign state of India.The formation and development of Ayurveda was shaped by cross-regional civilizational exchanges and has been traditionally transmitted across South Asia and parts of China.Second,while Ayurveda has played a positive role in the construction of the theoretical system of Tibetan medicine,Tibetan medicine is not a component of Ayurveda,but an indigenous traditional medicine of China with a complete and independent system.Third,Tibetan medicine has taken root and developed in India,Bhutan,Nepal and other regions,becoming an important local traditional medical resource.The core of its theoretical system and its main transmission lineage can be traced back to the Xizang region of China.In the international exchanges of China's Tibetan medicine,it is necessary to objectively understand the historical relationship between Tibetan medicine and Ayurveda,facilitate the formation of a broader academic consensus,and promote mutual learning and academic dialogue among civilizations in the field of traditional medicine.关键词
