Abstract

Natural gas is prone to leakage and explosion accidents,and the explosion is highly destructive.In this paper,the effects of C6F12O on the explosion characteristics of methane with equivalence ratios of 0.8,1.0 and 1.2 were studied by using a 20L spherical device.The results showed that with the increase of C6F12O concentration,the maximum explosion pressure of methane increased first and then decreased,showing the dual effects of promotion and inhibition.However,it only inhibited the increase rate of explosion pressure and flame propagation speed.The formation of cellular flame was closely related to the rate of explosion pressure rise.The number of spherical flame cells reached the maximum at the peak of explosion pressure rise rate.The higher the pressure rise rate,the more significant the honeycomb structure on the flame surface.At equivalence ratios of 0.8 and 1.0,the Markstein length decreased to a negative value as the C6F12O concentration increased to 8%and 6%,respectively,while the Markstein length remained positive at an equivalence ratio of 1.2.This indicated that C6F12O promoted methane flame instability,with the promoting effect diminishing as the equivalence ratio increased.The mechanism of C6F12O inhibiting methane explosion was as follows:C6F12O diluted the concentration of combustible gas after gasification,and blocked the chain reaction by decomposing endothermically and generating fluorine-containing free radicals to react with key free radicals such as H,O and OH,thus effectively inhibiting methane explosion.The research results can provide a theoretical basis for the prevention and control of methane explosion and the development of new explosion suppressants.
