The Effects of Compound Probiotics on Growth Performance,Serum Biochemical Indices,and Immune Function of Dairy Goat Kids

Abstract
This study aimed to evaluate the effects of different doses of a compound probiotic prepara-tion on growth performance,blood biochemical indices and immune function in early-weaned Saanen dairy goat kids.Forty-eight healthy male Saanen dairy goat kids with an average body weight of approximately(8±2)kg were selected and randomly divided into 4 groups,with 12 kids per group.The kids were fed a basal diet(control group,CON)and the basal diet supplemented with 2 g/kg(low-dose group,LDG),4 g/kg(medium-dose group,MDG),and 8 g/kg(high-dose group,HDG)of compound probiotic prepara-tion,respectively.The pre-feeding period was 14 days and the experimental period was 60 days.Growth performance indicators were measured before morning feeding on day 0,day 30,and day 60 of the formal trial.On day 0 and day 60 of the experiment,3 mL of blood was collected from the jugular vein of each kid.At the end of the experiment,3 kids were randomly selected from each treatment group for slaughter to determine the spleen index.The results showed that:(1)Compared with the control group,MDG group exhibited significantly increased body length on day 30(P<0.05).(2)ALB content in the HDG group was significantly higher than that in the control group(P<0.05);UREA and CREA contents in the LDG and MDG groups were significantly decreased(P<0.01).AST activity was significantly decreased in all three experimental groups(P<0.05),and ALT activity was significantly decreased in the LDG and HDG groups(P<0.05).The TG content in the LDG group was significantly lower than that in the HDG group(P<0.05).(3)CAT content in the serum of the HDG group was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.01),and MDA content in the HDG group was significantly lower than that of LDG group(P<0.05).(4)Serum IFN-γ content in all experimental groups was significantly lower than that in the control group(P<0.05);serum IgG content in the LDG and MDG groups was significantly increased(P<0.05).TNF-α content in the LDG group was significantly decreased(P<0.01),and TNF-α content in the MDG and HDG groups was significantly decreased(P<0.05).(5)Compared with the control group,the addition of a medium dose of probiotics significantly decreased both spleen weight and spleen index(P<0.05).In conclusion,although probiotic supplementation in the diet of Saanen dairy goat kids did not significantly affect body weight and body length during the experimental period,different doses of probiotics improved liver and kidney function,immunity,and antioxidant capacity to varying degrees.Sup-plementation with 4 g/kg of the compound probiotic preparation in the diet of early-weaned Saanen dairy goat kids yielded the optimal effect.关键词
