摘要

Abstract

The development of clean energy,represented by photovoltaic(PV)technology,is an important measure towards realizing China's carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals,and mitigating the process of global climate change.Under this background,five southern provinces and regions in China must transition to a new power system and promptly delve into the potential,distribution,and variability characteristics of its renewable energy sources.This study uses urban geographic information data,high-resolution terrain data,among other resources,to assess the PV resources in five southern provinces and regions.From both spatial and temporal perspectives,it quantitatively assesses the technical potential and variability of PV power generation.The research reveals a centralized PV installed capacity potential of 172.8 GW and a distributed potential of 131.3 GW,with a combined annual PV generation potential of 419.4 TWh in the five southern provinces and regions.There still exists significant potential for PV development in the five southern provinces and regions,and there are seasonal differences in solar resource potentials among different provinces and regions,offering opportunities for inter-regional complementarity.
