Research on the Development Level and Standardization Construction of China's Digital Economy

Abstract

[Objective]Against the backdrop of increasingly fierce competition in the global digital economy,although China has elevated the digital economy to a national strategic level,there are still shortcomings in its standardization and integration with international standards.It is necessary to identify key areas for standardization based on the analysis of the digital economy's development level.[Methods]Referring to the TIMG index,a three-level indicator system for the development level of the digital economy is constructed,and an improved coupling coordination evaluation method is adopted to conduct in-depth analysis of the top 20 countries in the TIMG in 2023.[Results]The results indicate that China's digital economy is closely coupled in various dimensions but lacks coordination,resulting in uneven development.Digital technology and digital markets will be the focus of standardization in the future.[Conclusion]It is suggested to systematically promote the standardization of China's digital economy from four aspects:deepening international coordination of digital technology standards,building a standardization system for digital infrastructure,promoting the integration of digital market standards,and improving digital governance norms and operational guidelines.This will form a globally influential digital standards ecosystem and promote the overall leap of the digital economy through standardization.
