Abstract
Objective To design an accelerated rehabilitation(AR)protocol and analyze its clinical efficacy following minimally invasive arthroscopic surgery for chronic ankle instability,in order to elucidate the importance of accelerated rehabilitation for functional recovery in patients.Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 80 patients who underwent arthroscopic anterior talofibular ligament reconstruction using autologous tendon grafts for chronic lateral ankle instability at General Hospital of Northern Theater Command between October 2019 and October 2023.Based on the postoperative rehabilitation protocol,patients were divided into two groups:a control group(IG,Immobilization Group,n=40)that received brace immobilization postoperatively,and a study group(ARG,Accelerated Rehabilitation Group,n=40)that underwent an accelerated rehabilitation program.Postoperative outcomes were compared between the two groups using the VAS score,AOFAS ankle-hindfoot score,and radiographic measurements of the talar tilt angle and anterior talar translation.Results All patients were followed up for 12 to 16 months,with a mean duration of(14.43±1.23)months.At 3 months postoperatively,the ARG group exhibited a significantly lower VAS score compared to the IG group,a significantly higher AOFAS score,and smaller talar tilt angle and anterior talar translation(P<0.05).At 12 months postoperatively,the ARG group still demonstrated a higher AOFAS score than the IG group,a talar tilt angle closer to the physiological value,and a smaller anterior talar translation(P<0.05).Intergroup comparisons of efficacy revealed that the ARG group outperformed the IG group in terms of VAS improvement,AOFAS scores,correction of the talar tilt angle,and anterior talar translation at both 3 and 12 months postoperatively(P<0.05).Conclusion Compared to conventional rehabilitation,accelerated rehabilitation leads to more significant improvements in ankle joint function and stability following autologous tendon graft reconstruction for chronic ankle instability.关键词
