Development and Empirical Study of Exercise Programs for Promoting Coordinated Physical and Cognitive Development in Primary and Secondary School Students
摘要
Abstract
Objective:To investigate the effects of a 12-week comprehensive exercise intervention on physical fitness and executive function in primary and secondary school students and the relationship between them, and to provide an effective program for physical-cognitive integration. Methods:A 12-week comprehensive exercise program was developed for primary and secondary school students respectively based on their physical-cognitive characteristics, and implemented with 544 students. Results:The intervention significantly improved physical fitness and executive function.Primary students improved in speed, explosive power, cardiorespiratory endurance, agility, coordination, inhibition, updating, and shifting.Middle school students improved in speed, explosive power, agility, coordination, inhibition, updating, shifting,as well as flexibility and strength endurance.Additionally, male students showed improvement in cardiorespiratory endurance.Updating gains in primary students were associated with agility and cardiorespiratory endurance, with agility showing a stronger association;shifting gains in middle school students were associated with agility. Conclusions and suggestions:The developed program effectively promotes coordinated physical and cognitive development, with agility as a core target.Future practice should employ agility via grade-level differentiated tasks and cognitively engaging complex situations under moderate-to-high intensity.关键词
