Abstract
The Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee clearly propose to enhance the influence of Chinese culture and national soft power,providing directional guidance for the shaping of the national image.Using art to assist in shaping the national image is an important way to tell China's story well.Since the founding of the People's Republic of China,five large-scale musical and dance epics that deeply integrate literary and artistic works with modern history,namely The East is Red,Song of the Chinese Revolution,The Road to Rejuvenation,Strive,Sons and Daughters of the Chinese Nation,and The Great Journeyhave respectively portrayed the revolutionary image of hard work and facing diffi-culties head-on,the political image of vigor and reform progress,the social image of national prosperity and social stability,the ethnic image of self-confidence and mutual benefit,and the political party image of putting people first and continuing the legacy while forging ahead.Among them,through practical paths such as clarifying the theme of the times,keeping con-tent up-to-date,innovating audio-visual techniques,and enhancing cultural dissemination,the national image is shaped in a comprehensive and multidimensional manner.At the same time,adhering to a firm political stance,valuing the role of artistic symbols,following the principles of using art to shape the national image,and skillfully employing artistic empathy narra-tives are the experience summary of large-scale musical and dance epics in shaping the national image.关键词
