Abstract
As a product of the era of manuscripts,Historical Recordsis not entirely the personal"creation"of Sima Qian,but also includes Sima Qian's transcription,arrangement,and processing of raw materials.The story of"Zhao's Orphan"in the Zhao Familyretains both official narrative and folk expression.The dream fulfillment of Zhao Dun and the prayer of the princess are the bonds of mutual induction between the ancestors and descendants of the Zhao family,foreshadowing the inevitability of the prosperity of the Zhao family and linking it with the miraculous deeds of Zhao Jianzi's dream journey to the Celestial Palace and Zhao Xiangzi's receiving orders from the three gods to form a logical thread of the Zhao family's"mandate from heaven".Meanwhile,the success of a series of actions such as rescuing,hiding,and establishing orphans is entirely due to the two cloth clad heroes,Cheng Ying and Gongsun Chujiu,who stepped forward in critical moments and were not afraid of sacrifice.The glorious image of the two is a vivid interpretation of the chivalrous folk customs of Zhao.Cheng Ying's revenge is not only a means of"restoring the broken lineage",but also a manifestation of the chivalrous spirit of"saving lives from adversity and rescuing people from distress and aiding the needy".Under the connection of acts of revenge,official discourse and folk discourse can merge and coexist in the same story.In his final writing,Sima Qian leaned more towards a folk perspective,namely admiration and praise for the righteous,thus laying the basic framework for the story of"Zhao's Orphan"in later generations.关键词
