GC-MS/MS analysis and antioxidant activity study of agarwood essential oil from different sources

Abstract
This study aims to screen the antioxidant active substances in agarwood essential oil,improve quality evaluation standards,and optimize extraction processes.Gas chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry(GC-MS/MS)was employed to compare the effects of different producing origins and extraction methods on its chemical components and to evaluate its antioxidant capacity.The DPPH free radical scavenging rate and total reducing power of 13 batches of essential oils were determined,and quality differential markers were screened by combining grey relational analysis and partial least squares discriminant analysis(PLS-DA).The results showed that all batches except S1,S12,and S13 contained antioxidant 2246,namely 2,2'-methylenebis(4-methyl-6-tert-butylphenol),with mass fractions ranging from 0.15%to 5.35%.S7 exhibited the strongest DPPH scavenging ability,and the mass fraction of its key component,2-methoxy-3-(2-propenyl)phenol,was as high as 75.10%.The PLS-DA model(VIP>1)identified three quality differential markers as potential antioxidant substances:2-(2-phenylethyl)chromone,2-(4-methoxyphenethyl)-4H-chromen-4-one,and 2-methoxy-3-(2-propenyl)phenol.关键词
