Ferritin Nanoparticle Vaccines and Their Advances in Animal Disease Prevention and Control

Abstract
Ferritin nanoparticle vaccine is novel for the prevention and control of animal diseases,with its core advantages as follows:immunogenicity enhanced by antigens that were densely and orderly displayed on the surface of nanoparticles to mimic the natural structures of pathogens;ferritin that was efficiently delivered to immune cells due to its excellent stability,biocompatibility and targeting ability;and strong cellular and humoral immunity induced by innate immune pathway that could be directly activated by the vaccine.The vaccine should be continuously developed in areas including the optimization of antigen presentation efficiency,improvement of storage and transportation stability,and development of broad-spectrum multivalent vaccines,in spite of its great advances in the prevention and control of animal diseases including influenza,African swine fever(ASF),porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome(PRRS),and foot-and-mouth disease(FMD).Here,the structural characteristics,antigen presentation types and molecular mechanisms of ferritin nanoparticle vaccine were reviewed,its advances and prospects in the prevention and control of animal diseases were outlined,thereby providing technical support for enhancing the safety,efficacy and practicality of the vaccine.关键词
