Kun Yuan Shi Bao-An Overview of the Academic Characteristics of Gynecological Pulse Diagnosis

Abstract
Kun Yuan Shi Bao is the earliest work of the female medical science of the Zheng family in Kunshan.It was written by Xue Xuan and his successors,and it elaborates on the academic theoretical characteristics of the Zheng family's female medical science regarding pulse diagnosis.The title is derived from the Zhou Yi,aiming to protect the female's Yin essence and Yin blood.The academic transmission trajectory of this work shifted from"secret transmission"to"public transmission".The theory of female pulse diagnosis described in the book originated from mainstream pulse diagnosis academic works such as Inner Canon of Huangdi,Pulse Classic,and Classic of Difficulties,and incorporated the pulse medical theories of scholars like Chen Wuzhe,Li Dongyuan,and Zhu Danxi.In terms of clinical practice,Xue Xuan took the point that"women's emotions are most prominent"as the starting point.He believed that in gynecology and obstetrics,pulse diagnosis should be given special attention and emphasis should be placed on regulating menstruation.The pulse diagnosis methods mainly include the Cun pulse-taking method and the Renying Qikou pulse.There are also seven major types of gynecological and obstetric pulse patterns(menstrual pulse,menorrhagia pulse,leukorrhea pulse,fetal pulse,delivery pulse,postpartum pulse,and miscellaneous symptoms pulse).He also proposed that the"upper fisherman's pulse"is targeted at liver depression syndrome.He summarized that the"sparrow pecking"pulse corresponds to physiological pulses(pregnancy pulse)and pathological pulses(true vital organ pulse,ghost fetus pulse).This book is one of the earlier specialized ancient books documenting gynecological pulse diagnosis,reflecting the particularity and superiority of pulse diagnosis in traditional Chinese medicine gynecology practice compared to ordinary pulse diagnosis.It also made significant contributions to the development of gynecological pulse diagnosis in later generations.关键词
