Identification of the Manihot esculenta Ribosomal Protein Gene Family and Analysis of Expression Patterns under Stress Conditions

Abstract
Ribosomal proteins(RP)play significant roles in the growth and development of plants,as well as in responses to biotic and abiotic stresses.However,there are relatively few studies on RP in Manihot escu-lenta,and the gene family has not been systematically identified yet.A preliminary separation and identifica-tion of the Manihot esculenta RP gene family was conducted,and a total of 165 Manihot esculenta RPL genes were identified,divided into 36 subfamilies such as RPL3,RPL4 and RPL5.Additionally,99 Manihot esculenta RPS genes were identified,divided into 32 subfamilies such as RPS2,RPS3 and RPS3a.Through transcriptome analysis,the expression levels of RPL and RPS in different tissues were systematically studied,revealing that their gene expression levels had tissue specificity.A large number of RPL and RPS genes were highly expressed in leaves and midribs,but had lower expression levels in storage roots.Transcriptome analy-sis was also conducted on the expression profiles of RPL and RPS under 7%polyethylene glycol stress condi-tions and 50 μmol/L abscisic acid(ABA)treatment.It was found that the expression of RP genes showed dif-ferentiation after drought stress,while a large number of RP genes showed downregulation after ABA treat-ment.Moreover,a significant decrease in RP gene expression was observed after scale insect treatment.In summary,this study systematically identified the Manihot esculenta RP gene family and further analyzed the expression of RP genes in different tissues of Manihot esculenta and their expression changed under drought stress and scale insect stress conditions,providing a basis for further research on RP genes.关键词
