Abstract
Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy of transcutaneous electrical stimulation at different frequencies combined with sodium hyaluronate eye drops in patients with dry eye syndrome. Methods A total of 99 patients with dry eye syndrome admitted to Bijie Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from December 2024 to December 2025 were selected as subjects. They were randomly assigned into control group(n=25)and experimental groups[low-frequency group(n=25),medium-frequency group(n=25),high-frequency group(n=24)]using a random number table. The control group received sodium hyaluronate eye drops for treatment, while the experimal groups received combined therapy with different frequencies of transcutaneous electrical stimulation on this basis, with continuous intervention lasting 4 weeks. The ocular surface disease index(OSDI),non-invasive tear breakup time(NITBUT),Schirmer I test(SIT),and numerical rating scale(NRS)were assessed before treatment baseline,at 2 weeks, and at 4 weeks for all groups. Results Repeated-measurement ANOVA results showed significant time main effects for the OSDI,NITBUT,SIT,and NRS scores across all groups(P<0.001).Among the NITBUT,SIT,and NRS indicators, the time×group interaction effect was statistically significant(P<0.05).At the 4-week endpoint compared to control group, tear film stability, tear secretion, and ocular pain relief were superior improved in high-frequency group(P<0.001).Conclusion Percutaneous electrical stimulation combined with sodium hyaluronate eye drops significantly improves both subjective symptoms and objective signs in patients with dry eye syndrome.Notably,higher-frequency percutaneous electrical stimulation demonstrates clinical advantages in enhancing tear film stability, increasing tear secretion, and alleviating ocular pain.关键词
