Between looking up and down:"Low-altitude media"and the reproduction of urban space
摘要
Abstract
The emergence of the"low-altitude economy"as a defining issue of our time has brought forth"low-altitude media",represented by drones.Through the technical practice and cultural translation of"looking up and down"perspectives,such media have become an important"method"for reshaping the production of urban space and its regimes of meaning.At the technological level,low-altitude media reconstruct the production logic of Lefebvre's spatial triad through material practices.First,at the level of spatial practice,algorithmic operations transform the city from a"container for dwelling"into a"programmable interface",enhancing the extensibility of space.Second,at the level of representations of space,interface-based interactions render spatial meaning fluid through continuous human-technology dialogue.Third,at the level of representational space,low-altitude media become an open arena for contestation between official and grassroots discourses,shifting spatial politics from implicit struggles to explicit negotiations.At the cultural level,low-altitude media reshape the social meaning networks of urban space through situated narratives,embodied performances,and ritual orders.Drone performances viewed from below construct a form of geo-romantic narrative imbued with mythic qualities,while collective bodily participation reorganizes audience perception and generates embodied cognitive rituals.In this process,low-altitude media transform urban airspace into a temporary ritual theater,reconstructing the fading sense of"the nearby"and public connection in the digital age.As a techno-cultural assemblage,low-altitude media not only enhance the"visibility"of urban representation but also generate a coexistence of spatial meanings.Through multidimensional interactions among human-human,human-technology,and human-place relations,they reveal the mutually constitutive relationship and ethical tensions among"human-media-city"under conditions of modernity.关键词
