Abstract
This study analyzees the balance of agricultural water use in Guangdong Province using the Gini Coefficient and Information Entropy.The Pearl River Delta region exhibits low agricultural water,accounting for less than 30%of total water use.In contrast,eastern,western,and northern Guangdong demonstrate high agricultural water ues with a large proportion of total water use,particularly in western Guangdong,where approximately 80%of annual water use is allocated to agriculture.By calculating the Gini coefficient for"agricultural water use vs.total water use,"it was found that agricultural water allocation across the province is relatively balanced(G=0.350).A significant positive correlation was observed between the Gini coefficient of agricultural water use and per capita GDP at the municipal level(R=0.956),indicating that economic development substantially influences the balance of agricultural water use.Calculation of the Gini coefficient for"agricultural output value versus total agricultural water use"revealed a balanced and rational distribution of water resources and corresponding output among cities(G=0.180),with agricultural water allocation efficiency higher than that of other provinces.Through detailed analysis of water use data from Huizhou and Maoming cities,the theory of water competition between agriculture and industry was validated offering new insights and perspectives for optimizing water use structures.关键词
