Analysis and Suggestions on the Impact of New Regulations on Prepackaged Food Labeling on the Sugar Industry Chain

Abstract
To analyze the impact of the newly promulgated GB 7718-2025 and GB 28050-2025 on the sugar industry chain,and to provide strategic references for relevant enterprises.Key provisions related to the sugar industry chain in the two new regulations were systematically reviewed,and their specific impacts on marketing claims,nutrition labeling,ingredient classification,date marking,and digital labeling were interpreted in the context of sugar production and downstream applications.The new regulations explicitly prohibit claims such as"sucrose free",mandate the compulsory labeling of"sugar"on nutrition labels,standardize food date marking,and require quantitative labeling of specially emphasized ingredients.Meanwhile,they allow various types of sugar to be uniformly labeled as"sugar"and encourage the use of digital labels.These changes force downstream sugar users to adjust marketing strategies and optimize label designs,while facilitating the promotion and application of products such as liquid whole sucrose syrup.It is recommended that enterprises in the sugar industry chain conduct label compliance self-examinations,establish a sound label compliance management system,strengthen consumer science communication,and promote innovation in sugar-related products,thereby achieving a transformation from"sugar suppliers"to"providers of diversified sweet ingredient solutions".关键词
