Abstract
OBJECTIVE To analysis the anatomical landmarks of the internal carotid artery(ICA)in transnasal endoscopic lateral skull base surgery based on CT imaging,as well as the spatial relationship between the landmarks and the ICA,in order to ensure the safety of the surgery.METHODS Imaging data of 30 cases(60 sides)of head and neck CTA scans were randomly selected.To observe the anatomical landmarks of the ICA related to endoscopic skull base surgery,and the important parameters were measured.RESULTS The distance from the petrous apex spine(PAS)to the midline was(17.3±1.2)mm.The thickness of the inferior wall of the ICA was(4.7±1.1)mm.The distance from the inferior edge of the posterior opening of the pterygoid canal to the anterior knee of the ICA was(4.0±1.1)mm and the angle between the shortest line connecting the inferior edge of the posterior opening of the pterygoid canal to the anterior knee of the ICA and the line where the inferior wall of the pterygoid canal located was 26.2°±14.2°.The longitudinal projection distance from the PAS to the posterior knee of the ICA was(12.1±2.4)mm and the lateral projection distance was(10.9±2.0)mm.The distance from the butterfly spine to the pharyngeal segment of the ICA was(6.4±1.5)mm.CONCLUSION The head and neck CTA can provide anatomical information about the ICA,which can serve as an important reference before skull base surgery.Combining the relationship between the PAS,pterygoid canal,sphenoid spine,and the ICA,can help the location of the ICA,thereby ensuring the safety of lateral skull base surgery.关键词
