摘要

Abstract

To reduce the electrostatic spark sensitivity(ESS)of zirconium(Zr)powder,a ZrC ceramic layer was formed by means of in situ reaction on the surface of Zr to alter the charge distribution on the surface of Zr powder,obtaining the Zr/ZrC composite fuel.The physicochemical properties of the prepared Zr/ZrC composite fuel were characterized.The micro-struc-ture,thermal oxidation characteristics,and ESS were tested by using scanning electron microscopy-energy dispersive spectros-copy(SEM-EDS),a simultaneous thermal analyzer,and an ESS tester.The results shown that,compared with the Zr raw ma-terial powder with a median particle diameter of 20.91 μm,the median particle diameter of Zr/ZrC composite fuel was at most 16.10μm.The density of the Zr/ZrC composite fuel decreased from 6.496 g/cm3 to 6.091 g/cm3.However,the vol-umetric calorific value of Zr/ZrC composite fuel maximumly increased from 70.22 kJ/cm3 to 80.16 kJ/cm3.The activation en-ergy of the thermal oxidation reaction of Zr/ZrC composite fuel decreased from 339.8kJ/mol to 202.2kJ/mol.In addtition,at the electrostatic discharge energy of 180mJ,the probability of electrostatic ignition probability for Zr/ZrC composite fuel was reduced from 100%to 46.7%,indicating that the ESS was significantly reduced.
