On Hartmut Rosa's Theory of Modernization as Acceleration
摘要
Abstract
Hartmut Rosa has proposed a dynamic and critical theory of modernization as acceleration.By reflecting on traditional modernization theories,he highlights the necessity of examining the acceleration dimension as modernization,identifies the inherent social acceleration logic of modernization,reveals dy-namic stability as the operational mode of modernization,and expounds on the core viewpoints of modernization understood as acceleration.Focusing on alienation and the crisis of dynamic stability,Rosa conducts the critique of the predicaments of modernization.He argues that the social acceleration logic of modernization leads to systemic crises,including the crisis of dynamic stability triggered by the AAA model,which manifests as various crises within capitalism.To break away from these predicaments,Rosa puts forward directional paths for modernization:he emphasizes countering alienation with resonance,repla-cing dynamic stability with adaptive stability,and substituting the"accelerated society"with a"post-growth society".Rosa's theory of modernization possesses certain theoretical significance and practical implications,while its limitations remain to be acknowledged.关键词
