Abstract
To reduce the high energy consumption and fabric damage caused by the coupling of thermal,chemical,and mechanical actions in conventional laundering,artificially sebum-soiled cotton fabrics were investigated,and the washing performance of three plasma-based pretreatment methods:atmospheric pressure glow discharge,plasma-activated water,and vacuum glow discharge under a unified mild washing program was compared.Soil removal performance and fabric damage were evaluated in terms of washing efficiency,colour difference(ΔE)and changes in tensile strength.The results show that,under suitable gas atmospheres and treatment times,atmospheric pressure glow discharge improves washing efficiency by approximately 8%compared with the untreated control,but accompanied by moderate colour change and tensile strength loss.Plasma-activated water leads to only a limited increase(4%)in washing efficiency,but has negligible effects on colour difference and tensile strength,indicating good fabric protection.Vacuum glow discharge achieves the highest washing efficiency,about 20%higher than the control,but causes the most severe tensile strength loss,with a maximum reduction close to 19%.Those findings indicate that the three plasma technologies exhibit distinct trade-offs between cleaning performance and fabric protection,and that atmospheric pressure glow discharge and plasma-activated water are more promising for integration into household washing appliances.Based on the underlying mechanisms of the above plasma technologies,targeted optimization schemes are proposed for atmospheric-pressure glow air plasma and plasma-activated water,providing theoretical and technical support for their feasible popularization and practical application in household scenarios.关键词
