Optimal Design and Experimental Verification of Unlimited Life Spring Solenoid Valve

Abstract
With the improvement of the lifespan of spacecraft,it is imperative for high-performance propulsion systems to require solenoid valves with a long service life.This paper introduces the design and development of a solenoid valve with a long lifespan,high reliability,and no friction-free leaf-spring.The novel feature of its structure is that the group forms a sealing spring,which can significantly reduce the material stress of a single spring.The clapper suspension armature assembly makes the structure of the solenoid valve simple,small in size,and free of friction.Using the finite element analysis method,the axial stiffness and stress of several types of leaf springs are analyzed and compared,and it is determined that the involute shape of the reed arm is the optimal one.Aiming at the problem of stress concentration in the spring arm,a closed groove mode with a large circular arc transition at the beginning and end of the groove is proposed,which better solves the problem of uneven stress distribution,thus improving the lifespan of the spring.The developed solenoid valve has passed the mechanical and thermal environment tests and completed the life assessment test of ten million on-off cycles,representing a magnitude improvement over the technical indicator of one million on-off cycles lifespan reported in the publicly available literature within the industry.关键词
