Effection of Scraper Parameters on Vertical Conveyor Performance Based on DEM

Abstract
To explore the influence of the scraper structural parameters of the vertical buried scraper conveyor on the conveying performance and energy consumption,the research team established a simulation model of the vertical buried scraper conveyor based on the Discrete Element Method(DEM).The Hertz-Mindlin no-slip contact model was adopted to study the effects of scraper speed,spacing and effective area on the lag degree of soybean particles,energy consumption and scraper force.The results indicate that the increase in scraper speed has a relatively minor impact on the lag degree of materials.Increasing the scraper spacing or reducing the effective area of the scraper leads to a decrease of material conveying speed and exacerbates the lag phenomenon.Excessive spacing can easily cause material collapse.In terms of energy consumption,the energy consumption for particle lifting increases with higher scraper speed or larger spacing,but decreases with the increase in the effective area of the scraper.Additionally,the scraper speed has a relatively minor effect on the force exerted on the scraper.However,the scraper force increases with greater scraper spacing and decreases with an increase in the effective area of the scraper.This study provides important references for the development and parameter optimization of high-performance vertical buried scraper conveyors,as well as for energy-saving design.关键词
