Transportation Accessibility,Economic Linkage and Urban Centrality in the Yangtze River Delta Region

Abstract
Based on panel data from 41 cities in the Yangtze River Delta region from 2008 to 2022,a two-way fixed effects model was employed to analyze the impact of improved transportation accessibility on inter-city economic linkage and urban centrality,as well as its underlying mechanisms.The results show that enhanced transportation accessibility significantly strengthens economic linkage by attracting talent agglomeration and optimi-zing resource allocation.Influenced by urban transportation hierarchy and industrial struc-ture,the effect of improved transportation accessibility on economic linkage is more pro-nounced in transportation hubs and service-oriented cities.Furthermore,the effect of transportation accessibility on economic linkage is significantly stronger in newly integrat-ed cities of the region compared to core cities,and improved transportation accessibility al-so enhances urban centrality.关键词
