"Cross-Border Transport,Trade,and Industry"Coupling Coordination Effects in China-Indochina Peninsula Economic Corridor

Abstract
As one of the six major corridors of the"Belt and Road Initiative",the China-Indochina Peninsula Economic Corridor is a key platform for deepening China-ASEAN regional economic integration.This study was based on panel data of 19 cities along cross-border railways from 2013 to 2023 and established a three-system coupling coordination model for transport,trade,and industry to examine the coupling coordination mechanism among them.The results show that cross-border railways significantly improve regional transport accessibility,which presents a spatial gradient featuring"high in the north and low in the south".Cross-border railway connections strengthen regional trade linkages and form a spatial ring structure centered on Kunming,Hanoi,and Bangkok.Cross-border railways generate a clear agglomeration effect on the secondary industry,while their spatial restructuring effect on the primary and tertiary industries remains limited.The coupling coordination degree of the three systems exhibits an overall upward trend and demonstrates spatial correlation,although local imbalances are still evident.Further analysis indicates that enhancing cross-border transport network connectivity and spatial coordination is a key path toward achieving regional coordinated development.关键词
