Abstract

In this work,the physical layer security(PLS)of one hybrid visible light communication(VLC)/radio frequency(RF)system with simultaneous lightwave information and power transfer(SLIPT)is studied in the presence of multiple non-colluding eavesdroppers(NCEs).Specifically,the transmitter simultaneously sends VLC signals to the legitimate user and relay node.SLIPT is adopted at the relay node to extract the direct current(DC)component from the received optical signal for energy harvesting,which is then utilized for RF transmission.The legitimate user employs maximal ratio combining to achieve cooperative communication between the VLC and RF links,while multiple NCEs attempt to eavesdrop information via the RF link.The Gauss-Legendre integral formula is adopted to derive the approximate analytical expressions of secrecy outage probability(SOP)and effective secrecy throughput(EST).And the correctness of the analytical results is verified through the Monte Carlo method.Results show that the SOP and EST performances will deteriorate with the increasing channel gain of the eavesdropping link and the radius of the area where the legitimate user can move.Conversely,with the increase of the fill factor for SLIPT at the relay node,the transmit power of the single light-emitting diode(LED),the distance between the NCEs and relay and the quantity of LEDs,the SOP and EST performances would be improved significantly.Moreover,as the secrecy capacity threshold grows,the SOP performance decreases while the EST performance first rises to a peak and then declines gradually.Particularly,the increase in the number of NCEs would lead to worse SOP and EST performances.In addition,a moderate increase in DC bias can enhance the relay's energy harvesting capability and forwarding power,thereby improving the SOP and EST performances.However,an excessively high or low DC bias may degrade the signal-to-noise ratio(SNR)and worsen the bit error rate(BER)performance at the relay node.This work could provide a good reference for the secure design of VLC/RF hybrid systems with high density users under energy-constrained environments.
