Ferroptosis and inflammatory signaling pathways:Mechanisms and associations

Abstract
Ferroptosis is a new type of programmed cell death induced by Fe2+overload,abnormal amino acid metabolism and lipid peroxide accumulation.Inflammation is the body's defense mechanism against infection,injury or other irritation.Inflammatory response can activate a variety of inflammation-related signaling pathways and jointly promote the occurrence of ferroptosis by regulat-ing iron metabolism,ROS production,antioxidant defense,lipid metabolism and mitochondrial function.Among the relevant signal transduction pathways,this paper focuses on five classical inflammatory pathways,namely,JAX-STAT,NF-κB,inflammasome,c GAS-STING and MAPK and elaborates their roles in ferroptosis,which is helpful to further understand the pathophysical process of iron death.Study of these inflammatory pathways provides new thinking and research directions for further exploring the mechanism of ferroptosis and provides appropriate therapeutic approaches for the intervention of ferroptosis-related diseases.关键词
