Abstract
Objective:To compare the effects of bilateral lateral rectus recession(BLR-rec)and unilateral recess-resect(R&R)on the postoperative refractive status and visual function of children with basic intermittent exotropia.Method:A prospective study was conducted on 100 children with basic intermittent exotropia(33 cm and 6 m horizontal strabismus degree 25-45△)admitted to Xi'an People's Hospital from January to April 2025.They were divided into two groups by the dichromatic method, with 50 cases in each group. The observation group underwent BLR-rec,while the control group underwent R&R.Both groups received visual function training simultaneously 1 month after the surgery. The refractive status, visual function, and recurrence rate 6 months after the surgery were compared between the two groups.Result:There was no statistically significant difference in strabismus degree before the surgery between the two groups(P>0.05).At 2 weeks,1 month,3 months and 6 months after the surgery, the strabismus degree of both groups was lower than that before the surgery, and that of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences in the improvement rates of visual function between the two groups at 2 weeks,1 month,3 months and 6 months after the surgery(P>0.05).There were no significant differences in the lunar diopters and cylinder diopters between the two groups before surgery,2 weeks,1 month,3 months and 6 months after surgery(P>0.05).The recurrence rate at 6 months after the surgery of the observation group was lower than that of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with R&R,BLR-rec can more effectively improve the strabismus degree of children with basic intermittent exotropia, and the recurrence rate at 6 months after the surgery is lower. Both surgical methods do not have adverse effects on the refractive status of the children.关键词
